INTRO TO LETTERPRESS PRINTING / Bryan Baker Wednesdays from 10 AM - 1 PM May 6th - May 27th 4 Weeks Class Fee: $135 Take a break from the fast paced world and learn the fine craft of traditional typesetting. During this four session class we will be using antique tabletop platen presses, and vintage handset type to create small calling cards, and some very short form poetry. Neither previous printmaking experience or poetic expertise is needed. Properly locking compositions into the press takes patience, concentration, and eye for small details. But, what at first might feel tedious can become a rather calm zen process. There will be a lot of fun too, after the hard work of setting things up and proofing is done, printing and an edition of your pieces will be quite easy. Participants will certainly be making enough impressions of their pieces to trade with classmates, and still have plenty to give to family and friends.
