This volunteer opportunity is when we need more volunteers than originally expected or if we have a volunteer that can no longer make it to the volunteer opportunity. By signing up for this opportunity you are committing that you are free this day to be called in last minute to help deliver meals to our clients in need. You are NOT guaranteed a route by signing up. We must reach out to you to assign you a route. We will not grant you hours unless you are called in. THIS IS JUST A FYI... IN CASE YOU ARE CALLED IN, WE WANTED YOU TO KNOW THE REQUIREMENTS FOR CLIENT MEAL DELIVERY: Please watch both videos to fully prepare for your delivery experience: Meal Delivery Protocol and WorkWave App Instructions Description: Using your own vehicle and gas, you will deliver meals to our clients in the metro-Atlanta area. The average route is 1.5-3 hours in length. Deliveries can include up to 12 boxes of various sizes. ONLY THE DRIVER SHOULD SIGN UP. Please let us know if any passengers need to be signed up. Expectations: Ensure you have room in your trunk and backseat for 6-12 large cardboard boxes. Please clear all clutter to or other items from the trunk and backseat. Drivers must be 21 years old or older. Must have valid license and vehicle liability insurance. Please ensure Open Hand has an up-to-date copy of your automobile insurance card. Please bring a charged cell phone and a pen! Day of the Volunteer Event: Download the app WorkWave Route Manager. We will provide you the login information when you arrive. Please pick up at the loading docks at 1380 W Marietta St NW Atlanta, GA. You will be greeted in our carpool line by a team member. We will then bring your meals to the car. After your route, you will not need to return unless you borrowed a cart. You are NOT guaranteed a route by signing up here. We must reach out to you to assign you a route. Requirements: Must be 21 years old or older Must have valid driver’s license; please ensure Open Hand has an up to date copy of your license. Must have valid vehicle liability insurance; please ensure Open Hand has an up to date copy of your automobile insurance card. Please bring a charged cell phone and a pen! Age requirement: 21 or above.
