About
Looking for a fun way to start the weekend in the woods? Then join us for a quick hike to get the blood flowing and kick the day off right. East Palisades Park is an inside the perimeter gem with great trails, views of the Chattahoochee river and a bamboo forest! We will stop to take pictures at a couple spots along the trail including of course the bamboo forest. It is June in Atlanta so it is likely to be hot. Don't forget to bring some water and wear appropriate clothes. Since it will be hot we will keep a moderate pace, doing our best to stay under 3 MPH. We will be hiking all dirt trails for about 6 miles with around 800 feet of elevation gain. Let's beat the heat, please meet no later than 7:45am. We will start the hike promptly at 8 am. We will be meeting in the Whitewater parking lot, see the link below for directions if you are not familiar. Please don't go to the wrong parking lot. Note: This park does not have a public restroom, so please plan accordingly. After the hike -- there is an option to meet at a nearby Starbucks for those who are interested in some extra social time and coffee! Starbucks address: 6350 Powers Ferry Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30327 (Seven minute drive/2.8 miles from park parking lot)
