We will be able to find
birds
in light rain, for sure.
This walk is suitable for adults and older teenagers.
It is not suitable for children under 14.
Please do not bring your dog.
This site can be especially good for beginning birders.
Some of the trail is level, but there are several steep spots and a number of stretches where the surface is uneven from exposed tree roots, etc. Many parts of the trail are muddy and/or slippery after rains; plan your footwear accordingly. Restrooms are available at the SE and SW corners of the park, near the baseball fields.
Birding Focus:
We'll look for late migrants and summer residents.

Directions and Parking:
From I-285 on the north side of Atlanta, take Exit 29. Go south on Ashford Dunwoody Rd. about 0.95 mile, then turn left onto W. Nancy Creek Dr. NE. Drive to 1st large parking on SW corner of lake. 1636 West Nancy Creek Dr (approximate address - corner of Candler Lake West NE and West Nancy Creek Dr NE)
Please leave the first two rows of parking near the road empty for the "Challenger" baseball teams who need closer access and more space.

Available at the SE and SW corners of the park, near the baseball fields.
