About
This workshop invites participants to explore the diverse mushrooms found across Georgia’s forests and gardens. Led by Ranger Darling Ngoh, a park ranger, data scientist, and mycology educator, the session will highlight safe foraging practices, mushroom identification tips, and the importance of fungi in supporting ecosystems. Participants will also gain insight into how fungi connect communities, culture, and conservation. The session will include an interactive presentation with visuals, mushrooms found in GA for user interaction, discussions, and audience Q&A to deepen understanding and engagement. The program will include a slideshow of local mushrooms, foraged mushrooms for interaction, foraging etiquette guidelines, and visuals of edible, medicinal, and toxic species. Resources for identification and recommended reading will also be shared with attendees. Please register to reserve a seat.
