About
If you enjoy being outdoors on a ~2.5 mile or less walk and want to learn about local plants, wildlife, and habitats, this event is a great fit. Cobb County offers a vast and enriching outdoor program, and one of its popular activities is the Nature Club, which hosts guided walks and easy bike rides through Allatoona Creek Park. Allatoona Creek is one of the largest parks managed by the county (1,450-acre park leased from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers) and features extensive mountain biking trails, scenic hiking paths, and diverse wildlife, including blue heron nests. You can find more details about upcoming park events. To sign up for this AOC event, you first need to create a free account on the Cobb County Parks website and log in to register for the 5/14/26 Nature Club. Registration is mandatory for it helps the county track attendance and collect required waivers. We will meet 10 minutes before the event begins for introductions. We will join the walk. At 10 a.m. we will gather with our Cobb County host for the guidee walk. Every walk brings a surprise! This is not a fitness hike: We will make constant stops at the discretion of the guide. (If you decide to bikeride, you don't need to sign up for the AOC event, but feel free to sign up with Cobb county.) (If you need to cancel, please email register@cobbcounty.gov. and cancel also your AOC attendance.) Photo courtesy: Kip B.
