Celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with the Soorya Foundation for Performing Arts. Experience the timeless elegance of traditional South Indian dance as young Soorya dancers weave together stories from ancient India through rhythm, melody, and expressive storytelling. Narrated in a contemporary style, this captivating performance brings the essence of India's rich cultural heritage to life. Guru Sushma Mohan is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Soorya Foundation for Performing Arts Los Angeles-Cumming, GA and is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer and teacher. She has received honors and awards from the Georgia Council for the Arts, South Arts, California Arts Council and the city of Los Angeles and County Arts Commissions for her productions and performances. She has more than 1,500 performances to her credit at various dance festivals across the United States and India. This program is free. Registration is not required. Sandy Springs Branch hosts this free Fulton County Library event in Sandy Springs, with 3:00 PM-4:30 PM.
