About
This is Joyce's Thursday hike that various Trip Leaders will be covering while she is out of town. Groveway Park is a great place to start our Thursday morning hike . . . plenty of free parking and a bathroom! For those unfamiliar with Vickery Creek, the trails become rather technical in many places due to erosion that exposes lots of roots and leads to difficult footing. This makes it a difficult D2 hike, especially at a faster pace. This hike is definitely not recommended for beginning hikers or for folks who don't have a history of faster hikes with the AOC! . Poles are advised for some of the steeper hills. Our pace will be on the fast side, so again this trail would be challenging. We'll start on time, so arrive about 10 minutes early (9:50 am) to use the bathroom and to meet/greet your fellow members.
