Keri Archer Brown, ITVS Director of Content and Initiatives, does a deep dive into the ITVS mission - their programs, their application process, how they choose projects, and what documentary filmmakers should expect from the opportunity. We’ll discuss common mistakes filmmakers make, best practices for filmmakers looking to work with ITVS, and what helps you stand out among applicants. We also explore her career leading up to her work at ITVS to showcase the strength that ITVS staff brings to the table to support filmmakers. Moderator: Creative Conference Director Linda Burns Panelist: Keri Archer Brown Keri Archer Brown is responsible for the oversight and management of ITVS's Open Call Funding Initiative, informing strategy and implementation for our Diversity Development Fund Initiative, maintaining a portfolio of development projects, identifying projects and talent for potential ITVS support and co-production, representing ITVS at external events and convenings, and collecting and analyzing critical data that informs and supports content, business development, and institutional strategies. She came to ITVS with deep production, development, and management experience as both a line producer and an executive. She has worked in both capacities at ITV America/Sirens Media as well as at Discovery Studios for Discovery Communications’ networks such as Discovery Channel, Investigation Discovery, Animal Planet, TLC and Velocity. Complementing her background in content development and production, she also has roots in public relations and marketing, having led award-winning campaigns for AmeriCorps’ City Year/MetroTeenAIDS partnership, and served clients such as the NAACP, National Urban League and Freddie Mac.
