About
Dungeons and Taverns is a recurring Live Play Tabletop Role Playing event that takes classical actors from Atlanta's mainstage and puts them into a Shakespeare-adjacent, improvised experience. Our adventure begins under the rich tapestry of summer dusk falling over the sky covering the outskirts of Verona. Our tired adventurers transition from daylight to candlelight, taking refuge in the welcoming doors of a Franciscan monastery on their way to Mantua for a respite after their latest quest. Unbeknownst to them a small, scared entity has been calling into the waking and sleeping minds of anyone near Verona who will listen with clairvoyant dreams, omens and disturbing visions, desperate to halt the turning wheel of a tragedy yet to unfold. As it remains unanswered, it becomes more and more willing to do anything while it fights against all odds to find whoever will save who it deems most precious. Don’t miss our latest installment, and the chance to see the first ever Dungeons and Taverns homebrew class in action! “I dreamt a dream tonight.”--Romeo, Romeo and Juliet, Act 1 Sc4 “...for my mind misgives Some consequence yet hanging in the stars Shall bitterly begin his fearful date With this night’s revels, and expire the term Of a despisèd life closed in my breast By some vile forfeit of untimely death.” -- Romeo, Romeo and Juliet Act 1 Sc.4 “O God, I have an ill-divining soul! Methinks I see thee, now thou art so low, As one dead in the bottom of a tomb. Either my eyesight fails or thou lookest pale.” –Juliet, Romeo and Juliet Act 3 Sc.5. Performed at Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse, 499 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30308.
