Building In-Demand Skills or "Being Better than a Master of One" with Sam Carter

Sam Carter is the Puppet Shop Foreman at Center for Puppetry Arts and founder of Muelworx, a custom fabrication services company. Prior to that, he spent twenty years working in the Atlanta film industry fabricating props, set pieces, puppets, and more for films like "Black Panther" and television shows like "Stranger Things". Sam is a "jack of all trades", perpetually curious and looking to add new skills to his toolkit, and thrives on new projects outside of his comfort zone. He will discuss how being a dilettante, dabbling in several different mediums, has created a unique skill set that crosses over into real world job opportunities for hands-on creatives who find themselves looking outside of film and television for work.
