Tonight, we’ll be talking about The Last Party by Clare Mackintosh. The quiet Welsh village of Cwm Coed is shattered when controversial local celebrity Rhys Lloyd returns to develop a luxury resort on the shore opposite the village. The morning after a New Year’s Eve party at the resort, Lloyd’s body is found floating in a lake. Old resentments begin to rise to the surface, and new tensions emerge between the locals and the outsiders. It falls to Detective Ffion Morgan to investigate and navigate these challenges, but with her deep ties to the village, she dreads what she might find out about her neighbors, friends and family.
