Tightly-wound Lucy has moved back in with her mother after a breakup so bad it landed her in a psych ward. So when her new boyfriend Danny asks her to dogsit while he’s away for his nephew’s non-denominational circumcision party, it feels like proof she’s back on track. Until a stranger recognizes the three-legged dog…as HER boyfriend’s dog. Thrown into a reluctant alliance by the discovery that they’re both dating Danny, Lucy and the stranger (Mechi, a socially awkward babysitter) conspire to get even. Fully improvised, the film is driven by its digressions and misfires, which build into an absurdist comedy of errors that’s funny, tender, and resists expectation.
