"Values and Surfaces: Following Laura Almarcegui" — Endowed Lecture Philip Ursprung, Professor of the History of Art and Architecture , ETH Zurich Wednesday, April 22 6pm, Ackerman Hall at the Carlos Museum At the crossroads of art, architecture, landscape and ecology, Laura Almarcegui’s work helps us to see clearer our relationship with the environment, extraction, and architectural transformation. This lecture argues that Almarcegui follows roads not taken when Earth Art came to a halt half a century ago. Philip Ursprung is Professor of the History of Art and Architecture and former Dean of the Department of Architecture of ETH Zurich. He is author of Allan Krakow, Robert Smithson, and the Limits to Art (Univ. of California Press, 2013), Joseph Beuys: Kunst, Kapital Revolution (C.H.
