The only thing 17-year-old Catherine Morland loves more than ghosts and haunted mansions is reading novels about them. But Cathy gets a lot more than she bargained for when a ghostly authoress named "Miss Austen" appears in her drawing-room, foretelling an adventure that will take Catherine from the gilded ballrooms of Bath to the death-marked walls of a mysterious castle called Northanger Abbey. Freely adapted from Jane Austen's posthumous 1817 novel, Northanger Abbey is a rollicking send-up of the Gothic horror genre with a uniquely feminist twist.
